The Perfect Site Guide is Here & Free!

May 25, 2009 · 21 comments

It was time to breathe some life into my website tutorial that I was offering on 2 Create a Website.

When I wrote that guide some 5 or 6 years ago, it was current and relevant.

Well, the Net has evolved, and the book needed a major overhaul and face lift. ;)

Who Is This Book For?

If you’ve already started your site and are getting decent traffic, making money, etc. this book probably won’t tell you much that you don’t already know.

There are some traffic tips that you may find interesting, plus you can take a look at some of my favorite tools that I use to manage and monetize my sites.

This book is really for people who are just starting out, or people who are struggling to find success online.  As the title suggests, it really is the “perfect guide” for people starting their first site or blog.

I focus on a lot of tools and techniques I used to create and promote my sites.  So the book is very personal in that sense.

50+ Pages for Free? Are You Serious?

You may wonder why I would write a 50+ page book and not put a price tag on it.  Well, the book is monetized with affiliate links so I would feel a little strange slapping a price tag on a book with affiliate links.  I’ve always felt this way, which is why I tend to offer my e-books for free.

And speaking of those affiliate links, I’d like to point out that I own and use every single product that has an affiliate link tied to it in this book.   That was an intentional effort on my part.

Offering the book for free was also a marketing decision.  I know that offering something like this will spread virally.  I figured if my old tutorial that was only 5 pages deep spread the way it did, this one should really take flight through the Netmosphere.

Special Offer Inside

There’s also a coupon in the book that first-time website builders may appreciate.  You can only access the coupon through the book.  I do not offer this on my websites.

Download The Perfect Site Guide Today!

Accessing the book is easy.  Just go to http://www.ThePerfectSiteGuide.com and you will be redirected to the PDF file.  (Must have Adobe Reader on your computer.)

I would highly recommend you go to File, Save Page As in Adobe after the book loads so you can save it on your computer.

Feel free to e-mail the book to your friends or offer it as a free download from your site.  (Selling is prohibited.)

Enjoy the book!

P.S.  This book will be updated often, so make sure you come back to http://www.ThePerfectSiteGuide.com regularly to ensure you have the most recent edition.

Lisa…You are a class act. I have recently started a blog…MindPeaceToday.com…Your book is helping me learn how to stop my blog from being a “secret” to the world. The approach is very refreshing. It helps the novice (like me) in a non threatning manner. Actually making in enjoyable to read and implement. Thank You for that.

Lisa, just wondering if you can answer a question I have…Maybe I’m missing a detail somewhere regarding Site Build It!, can I have multiple domains? Will I ever have to pay $299 more than once a year if I want multiple websites? I’m sure I simply missed this information somewhere and you seem very attuned to it so I thought I would just ask you. Thanx, Mike

Hi Michael,

Due to how SBI! is setup you cannot have more than one domain with the $299/yr. I know a lot of other hosts offer multiple domains but since you are getting personalized help for each domain (brainstorming, SEO help, etc.) you have to pay for each site.

It’s Michael again from a minute ago :) Anyway, I was checking out some more of YOUR ‘content’ and have been finding every bit of it useful in some way. It’s obvious you have put allot of thought and energy into your business and sharing your experiences with others like myself makes the challenge of building a business exciting!

Hi Lisa,

I’ve read your ebook and I found it pretty helpful for people who want to make money online with a website. I think it’s clear that everyone who wants to make money with a website, needs a domainname, a webhosting package and a free program to build the site. Thanks!

Hi Shrey

I think it depends on what you want to do. I don’t know ASP but don’t really need it because my sites are mostly static content and video (except my blog, which is dynamic, but blogging platforms do all the work for you)

It’s $299 per site. Mind you, that includes your web design editor, mailing list manager, autoresponder, brainstorming (topic choice help) and all the tools that come with your site.

Hi Lisa,

I want to start my own website business, but a little confused about the real website and blogging. Can you create a business site with a blog? In desperate need of your help.

Hi Antoinette, have you watched my video on website vs blog. Blogs are a type of website and the main difference is that blogs have comments and the content is organized (by default) by date and category. So sometimes they aren’t always the best way to organize content.

But it depends on the goal of your site. With a static website you have more control over where and how the content is populated. But of course, with some code changes you can make either one function more like the other. Watch this video….
