Are You Cashing In With Chitika? [Video]

June 22, 2009 · 11 comments

I’ve been testing Chitika on two of my sites for the past two weeks.

So far so good.  It’s a great compliment or alternative to using contextual ad programs like AdSense, Kontera, Infolinks, etc.

Here’s a video with an overview of how it works…

Note: Using Chitika and AdSense on the same site/page does not violate the AdSense terms.  It is perfectly OK to use both.

Thanks! I was wondering about Chitika. From what I’ve heard, it was designed to work easily with adsense on the same page.

Great overview! There are so many different ad networks that it gets a little overwhelming when trying to decide which ones are right for you. I appreciate the video.

Hi Lisa,

This is really the first time you are hearing from me, but I have been watching all your videos and reading all your posts for sometime now. So don’t think I just found you. I recently started my own Hosted Blog with Wordpress, trying to help people with downline building for all these money making programs out there. I really like the way your blog looks now with this new theme and I really think your videos are very informative.
I like how you took the approach of getting in front of people and really explaining things in a way people will understand. As for Chitika I don’t have the traffic for it yet, but I have seen them on other sites and I don’t really care for how there ads look.Maybe when I get enough traffic I will try them out.
Thanks and look forward to seeing alot more comments from me.

The did not seem to have the volume of advertisers that AdSense or YPN! does.

They use Yahoo Search Marketing Ads just like YPN. But they are a smaller network. The advantage to that is they have very good, personal support. Something you don’t get with AdSense or YPN.

My experience of Chitika… isn’t so good. I implmented the MEGAunits at the top of each of my pages on my first website and they generated barely any click-throughs (with healthy 150 daily visitors). I then implemented the Chitika Whitespace Ads on my SBI site and they did get some click-throughs which generated between $0.10 and $0.20 on average – and about one click a day. However, the iritation factor of having this bar follow you up and down was insane.

I recently sold my first site – the buyer quite affectionately said he would ‘nuke’ them (the Chitika ads). They aren’t effective and they are exceptionally annoying.

A lot of hype and it works in principle (target ads to click-away search engine traffic) – but no results. Save your reputation and shop elsewhere..
