Welcome New Subscribers!

I’m trying something new to ensure I get to know more about you and what you need.  After all, the more I know, the more I can help and target my content toward you.

You took the time to subscribe to my list, so the least I can do is get to know more about you and why you’re here.

However, please understand that I will not be able to answer everyone directly.  I will be using your feedback here to publish better content and videos for you in the future.

In fact, I have revamped my FAQs with answers to common questions, so please check those out.

Now, I’d appreciate it if you’d take a few moments to tell me more about yourself and what you’d like to learn.  Here are some starter questions to get you going, but feel free to add whatever information you’d like.

1) Do you have a website yet?

2) Why did you subscribe to my newsletter?

3) What would you like to learn more about?  Please be specific.

4) What is your biggest challenge right now? (if any)

Just enter your feedback below.  Please don’t be shy.  You can use a pen name if you wish to remain anonymous.

Your e-mail address will not be displayed or shared with anyone.  It is only for commenting validation.

Thanks to everyone who has submitted feedback thus far.  It has been invaluable and helped me write my new book, Niche Website Success — which is a guide that teaches you how to build a website and make money with affiliate marketing, AdSense, and more.

Don’t forget to check out my FAQs!

I’ve decided I don’t have the patience for anything complicated. I like BigCommerce but there’s too much work involved. Presently, I want raise interest and drive customers to a marketplace website.

Lisa, do you have an opinion about “WordPress Thesis” vs. WordPress “Expand2Web SmallBiz Theme”? Is a WordPress blog the best choice for me?

    Hi Lisa!
I have a few websites (I’m a website designer), but I have not tried to market them yet because I don’t know where to begin.
I want to learn everything there is to know about earning a living by affiliate marketing. I want to learn more about Adsense, reselling, and writing e-books and blogs specifically.
My biggest challenges right now are time and funding. I need tips on fitting marketing into my busy schedule until I can do it full time — because as a single working mom & graphic design business one woman show everything falls into my lap and leaves me without much, if any time at all. And with all of the bills on me, I can’t exactly quit my day job anytime soon (but that is the objective).

    Hello Lisa!
I feel bad for waiting so long to sign up for your newsletter. Before I answer your questions let me throw some “cheese” your way. I came across your YouTube channel about three months ago, and have already learned a wealth of knowledge from you for free. I am currently planning on studying all of your content before I bother you with specifics. I think that your content is relevant, informative and exciting. So thank you Lisa!

    1. I do not YET have my own website.

    2. I subscribed to learn what I need to know about making my own social networking site. (Having this grand of an idea with not having the coding skills to make this website has been a thorn in my side for the last two years since I designed the concept in my head, not to mention all the other aspects that an upstart web-based business has to consider, I.E. driving traffic tools, branding, monetizing, content, I currently have about 10 positions in my company lol.)

    3. Wow this one is gonna be long. 🙂 Considering I do not currently have the coding skills I desire yet, (Taking Computer science classes in college currently) but I do have the ability to launch a YouTube channel. With that in mind I would love ideas on how to drive traffic to my YouTube channel. I want a well made production and learning about the Garageband app from you Lisa has already helped a lot. I also want a big blog presence, I am thinking of using Hubpages as my launch pad, I see there being synergy with using the power of Google with all of my enterprises.

    4. My biggest problem has actually been one of an emotional one. I don’t have any friends or family that have any experience with having the kind of dream that I do. It makes it difficult that a majority of my (real life peoples) almost seem to get annoyed with my constant talk of this website. Although there is a silver lining to this question. I have actually just found those like yourself Lisa, who have been the biggest inspiration to me in the last 4 weeks. I will make my dreams come true, even if it is exhausting and lonesome. Keep up the good work Lisa. You have one new loyal fan.

Good evening to you, Lisa – and thank you for all the helpful tips I have been able to review from your website and guiding blogs. I stumbled on to your webpage earlier this evening and the context caught my attention – you are accurate, straight to the point and true to your mission – seen from where I am standing at least.

First and foremost; it can be done. Earning readers, that is. And you are right. It takes time to attract „followers“. I´ve had a career as a freelance journalist for … so many years that when I mentioned the number a few weeks ago, the young man I was talking to laughed and told me never to speak in numbers – it would reveal my age. I laughed. (And then cried a little. Silently.)

But I´ve focused on magazine articles and news stories. It wasn´t until a year ago I wrote my first column for a lifestyle based web magazine. My first column got 1.100 hits – 11 months later I wrote my last column for the same web magazine and it got 34.000 hits. To make a long story short, it was somewhere along that road where I realized that there is more where that traffic came from. I fell in love with the internet.

To answer your first question: I don´t have a website yet but will buy the domain and hosting service later this week. I chose Hostgator & a magazine WordPress template – a simple looking but a nice one.

The answer to your next one is really written above: You have a way with words and I find it relatively easy to follow your instructions. You are encouraging and accurate. That is why I subscribed.

Thirdly: I am hoping to learn more about SEO do´s and don’ts. I am good with words. Not search engines. I have absolutely no idea how to boost search results. But I am certain that you have plenty of tricks hidden up your sleeve!

You ask me about my biggest challenge right now … and that, my dear Lisa, would be writing in flawless English – for I am of Scandinavian origin (I am Icelandic) & I have never written and published a single article in other languages then my own. But I am going there. Right. Now. I have reached the point of no return. English it is. Then you blogged about onelook.com …

… and there you basically have it!

Thank you for all the useful tips and keep up the good work 😉

Hey Lisa, I’ve been asked to build and update a website for a foundation that raises money for people with an acquired brain injury who can’t afford to pay for the use of a hyperbaric chamber.
I have an idea what I want on the site i.e. video, buttons for links to media sites such as facebook, paypal link for donations; I have no idea about html, I would prefer to use a program that allows me to create a site without having to learn html, if there isn’t such a program then I guess I’ll be researching html code.

    Hi Lisa,

Thank you for your welcoming me to your subscriber list. It is a thrill to be a part of your website. I am a music composition student and emerging songwriter from California. I’m in my last year at the university. I have websites in my plans with SBI. I really enjoyed your videos on site build it and Clickbank. These sites will also play a role in my ability to teach people various things in the art of music as well as to sell my musical product. I have many things to teach about composition as an art and finding a job as a composer. I’m fascinated why music is so low on societal norms. I also wonder why as a niche, music is still so low on the rankings? For example, I went to the site Lifetimeaffiliates.com as you recommended in one of your videos and there are no affiliate programs save for clickbank that have music-related products to promote. Anyway, music is my passion and with the above website http://www.cjwmusic.com, I plan to share my love for music of many different genres, especially political folk music. I am still on Day 4 in the site build it training but I still would need help with marketing my website(s). Would you have some tips on how to get in front of people in your niche with your website. I’m just a little confused there. Btw, my first book “America vs. America” a book of poetry turned political music and messages is out on Amazon! At least I’ve started somewhere.
I hope to communicate with you soon.

I have a website in its beginning stages . My issue is distinguishing how “conversational” copy needs to be on a website. It’s interesting that I see many SBI sites with a conversational tone that are doing good. But I see many SBI type sites without a conversational tone which are doing good. So that confuses me. I also find I still need to do some research for pages on my subject: but, how much? how can I tell how detailed my information needs to be for my readers when I’m just starting. I don’t want to take forever and a day to put up information; yet, I still want quality information. The word “quality” is repeated so much. But quite frankly I don’t think that has been really defined. Train of thought writing on a site, even though it’s different, is not necessarily “quality”. It really depends, I think, on your reader. But I’d like more actual examples of what quality means as differentiated from what is provided on Wikipedia, E-how and other platforms. Thank you for providing this forum. I know that one can ask for feedback in some of the forums, but sometimes when people aren’t familiar with your subject, they tend to give you their limited perspective. Short of doing focus groups, how can one distinguish their own style, provide quality and not reproduce the wikipedia approach?

I need a website that more on what I know and have learn as a growing musician. I need a website targets more on inspirational music and things that I can help teach or even be taught through my on experiences. I’m thinking about selling my websites i have now and starting over and doing it the right way using your book as my guideline.

When you login to PayPal, you will see “My Account” at the top of the screen. Right below that you will see “Overview”, to the right of that are several drop down headers. The first one is “add funds”. Click on that and then click on the drop-down option “add funds from bank account”.
      Hope that helps.

Sorry if all this qs sound stupid, i am new at this.

            Thks for the advice.

            Neels,

PayPal at this stage seem to have a specific/exclusive agreement with FNB. From what I can make out on FNB’s website you can still keep your Standard acc but you need to open an ordinary business account (sole prop) with FNB , link it to PayPal and then specify your STD bank account in FNB so you can funnel the funds to your STD account. Sounds crazy. Talk about monopolies!!!!

      Hey Neels,

There are some web hosts that set up your account instantly even if you can pay via paypal as normal (6-8 working days for the transaction to clear). Take a look at HostGator for example.

Hi Lisa and thank you for all the information you put out about building a website. I’m on chapter 9 of your eBook have picked a niche market and begun researching and writing content. Once I have scoured your eBook again I’ll use WordPress to begin with.
My question is about social networks, how important are they for a successful website, I’m currently teaching in Northeastern China and in the PRC Facebook, Twitter and You Tube are blocked. Have you any suggestions about how to get around this situation. My contract will run for another 18 months and I’d like to be earning enough to live on, comfortably when I go home to New Zealand?

Kind regards and thank you once again for the invaluable information.

    Andy

Social media is very important today, but you can still have success without it. I know it seems like everyone is using social media but I was listening to a podcast by Derek Halpern of Social Triggers and he says he actually prefers list marketing.

I would highly suggest you work on building a list with AWeber. Do something like I’m doing with this page and begin gathering feedback so you can at least use your newsletter to keep in touch.

Hi, Lisa – I have to say I’m looking forward to learning about creating a website, as I have been enthusiastically encouraged to do so by people who have seen what I have to offer. I am an artist specializing in portraiture, and architecture. My product is done in pencil and the technique is photo- real in nature. I spent over 30 years as an automotive illustrator before I retired, and wish to continue to do the work I have loved all my life. As is usually the case, however, most “manual” artists suffer transferring their creativity to a computer format and way of thinking, so I’m looking forward to any guidance you can provide! Thank you for your time.

I always live hand to mouth every day. Today i want you to put an end to this hurrible situation for me by given me some money to start up a business or teach me how to make money online with my mobile phone and without using paypal.com, it should be going directly to my bank account. I can’t afford desktop or laptop

I have an internet radio station. I spend hours everyday trying to promote to get listeners. I also am trying to find ways to generate some income to pay for my custom site. I;m frustrated because I don’t have technical skills to take advantage of SEO, Google Adsense etc.

      Hey Chris,

Please know that I do my best to get to people as fast as I can. No doubt you’ve scrolled through and seen the other requests for help. Hang with me. 🙂 This page was primarily for people to leave feedback for content to add to my sites and of course I’m also doing my best to keep up with questions.

Don’t forget to go to 2createawebsite.com and use the search function. I actually already have a page about Clickbank http://www.2createawebsite.com/money/clickbank.html

To join, you must have a website that is already complete because they will ask for your site on the application. Once your site is complete, go to https://www.clickbank.com/affiliateAccountSignup.htm?key= and apply.

When you are accepted you can then promote any of their products you want. Also make sure you download my free book http://www.theperfectsiteguide.com because I outline the steps to building your website.

I’m also working on improving my FAQ page to assist with questions like this so stay tuned. 🙂

I don’t have a website yet but will love to you to help me create one. Am a young star with great dreams in music; diplomat in musicology and into music production project. Am really in need of a website cos i have so many dreams to realise in music; some which i’m already into such as the publishing of my first music book entitled general music theory (very rich document of 200pages), setting of a music production studio and a music academy in my country. These might sound strange to you for a young guy like me but I must say i am highly blessed with the talent in music and even hope to do greater things in the nearest future.
Just help me obtain a website and i will ever remain indepted to you. I really need it inorder to sell my book online, advertise my music academy and production company.

      Hi Lisa,
I haven’t started a website as of yet. I am gathering information on how to and so forth. I would like to do an online website for a bookclub. within the website I would like for it to be membership based. I also would like to do things on the website like have the members to be able to critic books and we could share kindle and ebook reader information as well. I would like to make money with the website but really don’t know where to begin. I am not new to the use of the computer but am new to trying to do websites and blogs. if I could get some assistance I would appreciate it. I want to put the work in making my own and not using a lot of the websites that create sites for you. cause that way i will know step by step what im doing and what to expect from my site.

thanks for listening and I hope I made a lot of sense.
