I was hit hard with the latest Google algo change. Because I have an 2 column SBI site, any Google ads that were centered on the page took up too much space for Google’s liking and they dropped my rankings as punishment (at least that is what I think happened).
But anyway I keep moving along and want to thank you for all your help you so generously provide.

Thanks for your support! I honestly don’t think ads are the problem IF you have the social proof (likes, PR, good quality of backlinks, etc.) However, if you don’t have those things and you have excessive ads then yes, Panda may have bit you because of that. Have you read through Ken’s Panda guide he launched a couple of months ago? Make sure you login to Site Central to read that guide if you haven’t. Thanks for the feedback.

I didn’t list my website as I am not satisfied with it yet.
I have 2 questions I can’t seem to get clear on: The first one is regarding Google AdSense. Is it true that if you sign up with Google AdSense on your website that you cannot do any affiliate marketing on that site with other vendors?
The second thing I am confused about is blogs vs websites. I have been under the impression that a blog was a completely different entity from your website and they were published under different URL addresses.
In other words, one of the purposes, I thought, for a Blog was that in addition to using it to help others you could also use it to refer visitors to your website.
As you can see, I NEED A LOT OF HELP.

1) I have a website. My first one was built in 2009. 🙂
2) I subscribed to your newsletter, because wanted to see how you do things, get ideas for improving the experience of my own subscribers, and also learn from people who “walk the talk.”
3) “Traffic getting” strategies and technologies associated with JV-Partnerships, Affiliates, WSO, and other methods that have been successful for you.
4) Biggest challenge is exposure. Traffic is the “blood in the vein” for any online business. I have a lot to share, but I guess it’s a matter of time 🙂

Yes, but it is very basic wordpress hosted site. I wanted to learn the basics before paying for hosting. As you will see if you visit my website I have done reasonably well with the basics but still have a lot to learn. I have so many ideas for my site but dont have the skills to turn them into reality.

Due to the economic climate I don’t currently have much of an income. I want to build a site, with lots of visitors, then learn ways to earn an income from it.
I have just set up a website with office live.com and I purchased my domain name already with hostway.
Should I just stick with office live as my permanent website to place google adsense on and build all of my pages or should I build a website through hostway or wordpress? Are there any disadvantages to remaining with officelive.com? You stated to avoid free sites, but is officelive a different exception since it is powered by microsoft? I’ve had the site for a few years but if you feel I should start anew with another site, I will.
Longterm, what is the best option? Stay with officelive.com or create another website from scratch? I just downloaded your book on how to build one, but if you could let me know I would appreciate it. thanks so much for all that you do.

When I saw your videos on YouTube and found your website, I just knew I had to sign up because it was just the information I was looking for, and you don’t sugar coat anything! I’m in the process of developing an affiliate based and paid surveys website.
While I’m still adding content, the challenge I’m currently facing is regarding the terms/conditions and privacy policy. Because I have a very small budget, I found a website that sells templates, so I drafted one myself. My problem is finding an attorney to review it. One has quoted me $300 an hour to review the one I prepard and another has quoted me $1500 to draft one up from scratch. Are these the “going rate”? Another has even gone so far as to suggest I copy and paste from a similar website, tweak it and he’d review it for a lesser fee. Can you shed some light and point me in the right direction?

I honestly don’t know the going rate for attorneys to review something like this. I would imagine it varies from site to site. I would suggest getting a few other quotes from other people to see if that’s the going rate.
