YouTube Partner Earnings OOPS!

Filed Under: Make Money, Video 57 Comments

About two weeks ago I made a video stating my YouTube partner earnings are barely enough to pay my iPhone bill.  Well, after further analysis of my AdSense stats, I misinterpreted one key stat line in my reports.

So I created this video to clarify and share how you can earn money by embedding YouTube videos on your site even if you are not a partner.

See the AdSense FAQ’s for complete details about the AdSense for Content Host report.

this takes time and it is possible. Is it just a simple as finding a video on YouTube, getting the embed code and embedding it on your site, or do I have to have a channel that is enabled for monetization and then add those partner videos to my site and then use the embed code from there? at the moment, i’m doing $0 because i’m doing new sites which are more targeted and content rich, am looking to get in lisa’s adense earning area.

Hi, Lisa, another highly informative video. Love all your posts. Would try to embed your YT on my site when I have a related blog. I’m only afraid hubpages might not allow that for being ‘commercial’.

It’s nice to hear you make money from YouTube videos without being a Partner. I am not a YouTube partner, but would like to make money by embedding Partner videos on my site. If you are already an Adsense Publisher and embed a Partner video from YouTube on your site, how does Adsense know to give you a kickback for clicks that are received on the video on your site, since your publisher ID is not included in the video embed code anywhere? Is it just a simple as finding a video on YouTube, getting the embed code and embedding it on your site, or do I have to have a channel that is enabled for monetization and then add those partner videos to my site and then use the embed code from there?

    Hi Lisa
I was also thinking that Youtube partner earnings were not good until I noticed an extra bonus appearing in the payments history… I was very happy to see that my efforts on Youtube were paying off…

In fact Youtube is the best business move I had made so far…The best traffic along with bonus earnings! Win win.:)

Traffic is definitely the challenge for any website i think, it’s a fight for those famous keywords in the search engines, my you tube videos help a lot with that, often they will get under the keywords that is somewhat difficult otherwise.

If you have an AdSense account and you embed a video that has partner ads on it, you, the partner and YouTube all split the share of clicks.

I knew that being a youtube partner is a nice way to generate an income. I haven’t tried this because I only know that the video should have more traffic or views to generate an income. I didn’t know that anyone can earn money by embedding YouTube videos.

From testing I’ve done in the past 150 uniques daily bring in about $21 mthly, so you’re a bit ahead of the curve with $30, but that depends, given I’m sure others do better with that traffic.

Are you a YouTube partner? Don’t get the YouTube partner program and INDIVIDUAL partnership mixed up. If you can add a banner on your Channel then you are a full partner. But otherwise it will only be some of your videos that have ads, and you therefor won’t make much money.

Thanks for the update vid. When I watched the last video, I thought to myself that you surely must be making much more than just a iphone bill payment. Turns out your are! 🙂

I figured this much. Especially since you have over 30,000 channel subscribers and you get a significant amount of views on your vids in a short amount of time.

Thanks again for the informative update. Gives me something to strive for with my youtube marketing 🙂

    Hi Ashik

I also have a .blogspot.com blog. I have been posting on it for about three weeks now and I have had a total of 279 Pageviews. I have started a second blog http://photoshopediter.wordpress.com and I plan on making some money off my .blogspot.com blog so that I can get a .com domain.
That brings me to one of my points: Sign up for adsense! I signed up minutes after I created my blog. And only got accepted this week.

I would suggest upgrading to a .com domain as soon as your Adsense earnings cover it.

As for getting the traffic CONTENT is really important! The other thing I do is post on forums. Sign up for, (that’s lisa’s forum) introduce yourself put a link to your blog and then ask all the questions you have there. If you like me have a lot of questions you will soonbe able to add a Signature. The signature will get you both traffic and backlinks. But don’t make the signature something boring like: My website, make it something different like mine for example: altough you won’t I will still tell you to::)
    go to my site http://photoshopediter.blogspot.com

that was 1 minute of work, and it got me two pagevies just yesterday! And it was on just one post! So imagine if you had 60 or 70 (it sounds like much but once you’ve posted a couple questions you will quickly get posts)
BUT DON’T SPAM! THAT WILL GET YOU BANNED FROM WEBSITEBABBLE)
If you have anymore questions ask them only blog or twitter http://twitter.com/PhotoshopEditer

I used to tell myself this, ” i can’t afford it” It costs me less than 10.00 a month for unlimited websites. I have a total of 8 domains now and live under the poverty level lol.
Yes Blogger is great to start with, but Google can always decide to take your website down or advertisers wont take u seriously.
Just Lookup ways you can earn .com Free.
Also if you have a new website, you will not be getting a fat check from Adsense, because your website visitors would see your site from SEO traffic. this takes time and it is possible. Goodluck Ashik T.

Most definitely it does take time to build that traffic to your website. One thing good about adsense is you know you can always build your earnings, it almost becomes a challenge to some extint. The harder i market my website and add that new content which also gets into the search engines the more i see my adsense earnings grow. just imagine a 20 page website compared to a 120 page site, your going to be all over the search engines as your site grows which means more money.

Great update, Lisa. But I view the google support boards and publishers are getting their accounts closed from click bombers on youtube like crazy. it just takes one person angry or jealous and you’ll be filing out in-valid click reports. personally i will not risk my adsense account. you seem to be a premium publishers with a long record with the adsense staff. i’ve been with them sense 2003 or so but it has been on and off making $150 – $500 a month. i hope some of the others on here have the same success as you but i won’t touch youtube partner program. anyway, good stuff as always.

it took me about 6 mths to earn 500 a month for about 5-6 mths straight but i had a custom site done, and the code ended up being junk. outside of that run i do about 100-200 mthly. at the moment, i’m doing $0 because i’m doing new sites which are more targeted and content rich, am looking to get in lisa’s adense earning area. as one user side, you should get a domain, find a topic you enjoy (not one that just makes money because you’ll lose interest in 2-3 mths or some clone site), and mix in adsense with targeted stuff from cj, clickbank, etc. anyway, good luck.

oh, as far as design, you can usually find a cheap freelancer but you need to make sure they have GOOD references, or you’ll end up with junk code, so your site business/revenue model wont matter.

I totally agree with you about you tube. I was approved for revenue sharing and 2 weeks later my you tube account was suspended, i’m clueless as to why, YT sent me one email supposably explaining but it made no sense they said one of my videos of me advertsing our website was inappropriate, it’s an advertising website…lol…YT said i would see a strike when i logged back into my account but i could never log back in and no other explanations as to why or if i can possibly get the account back, i was so excited to finally be able to earn with my videos. Lisa if you have any contacts with you tube is there anyway you could possibly ask them about my suspended account. I had 13000 views and 167 subscribers. Thanks!
