A Cool Amazon Affiliate WordPress Plugin

Filed Under: Affiliate Marketing 45 Comments

EasyAzonI don’t normally have time to honor product review requests, but Chris Guthrie’s Easy Azon Amazon affiliate plugin caught my attention.

If you’re an affiliate for Amazon.com, you’re probably aware of the somewhat convoluted process of creating a product affiliate link for your site.

Well, Easy Azon simplifies the process tremendously by allowing you to create and embed affiliate links into your content right from the post editor in WordPress.  You don’t even have to visit Amazon.com!

Watch the video below for details…

I haven’t heard many stories of people making much money from Amazon. Would definitely be more tempted to use Clickbank as a general affiliate network but would rather pick a popular Aff. network first before choosing either one of the above.

Seems like a good plugin but isn’t all this affiliate stuff sort of in the past? I mean, I know there’s always potential but to become an affiliate these days one should have some thorough programming know-how otherwise there’s software out there that will find your campaigns and keywords!

    Hi, Lisa,,
Thanks for an informative video. The plugin looks very interesting — especially the function to detect the country that the person is from, and send them to the appropriate Amazon website.Amazon associates is a one of the good affiliates.

Is amazon affiliate program still worthwhile? I’m new to all of this but from what I’ve heard other affiliate programs are better ie. clickbank. People on forums always saying how they hardly make anything from amazon.

Amazon still works, but it’s all about volume. You need lots and lots of traffic to make worthwhile money. However, the good thing is they sell EVERYTHING so it’s often a good fallback if you can’t find an affiliate program for a product. I like Clickbank too.

I’m a newbie just wanting to get into affiliate marketing but I live in California. Is this a bad idea with the affiliate tax? Is it still possible to make money in California as a beginner in affiliate marketing?

      Cindy:

It’s definitely possible for a California resident to make money as an affiliate — just not for Amazon!

Sadly, Amazon killed its affiliate program here in CA, in response to new state tax laws.

There are, however, many other programs that are still going strong.

I think such plugin are now getting necessary because readers always move around mouse on links and see how big they are and if they find it like affiliates links or numerical then most of them go away. It better to customize them with such plugin and display them as unique ones.

    Thanks for sharing nice video…

Thanks for bringing this plugin to my attention. It will certainly speed up the process of linking to products, which can take time and is prone to errors if you don’t cut and paste correctly (as I do).

I always get fired up when I check out your blog, Lisa. I’m still doing lots of humor blogging which is not so product oriented, but I have two other blogs warming up that will recommend products.

I love these WordPress plug-in guys. Glad Chris got this out through you. Glad somebody mentioned Andy Bailey (CommentLuv). He’s one of the finest people I’ve ever met.

Hi, Lisa: Thanks for an informative video. The plugin looks very interesting — especially the function to detect the country that the person is from, and send them to the appropriate Amazon website.

How customizable is the plugin? I would like to include images of books & just their titles in my sidebar. I don’t want all the additional information (regular price, Amazon price, etc.).

Also, is it possible to adjust the size of the product images?

      Hi Kevin,

Hopefully Chris will come back to confirm/explain, but as far as I see it, you must display the product links “as is”. The code does not produce any variables that allow you to edit images, price, etc. That would be nice though!

    Hey Lisa,

Thanks for posting the review and I agree – you’ll get a lot more value out of using it on a product oriented website. That’s the primary use for the plugin and the main reason why I wanted to create this pluin was to just make the process a whole lot faster for me on my Amazon sites.

    Great video review 🙂

The plugin seems to work nicely on your Thesis themed blog Lisa. I will certainly check it out.

Hey Lisa, I first heard about Easy Azon from Andy Bailey of CommentLuv and he did a similar video tutorial. I’m an Amazon Affiliate but I haven’t implemented any strategies for selling Amazon products on my blog. However, Andy made a great point of how using this plugin could save money for someone like me who gets images from iStock, all the time.
I also think this would be great for my daughter to use on her fashion blog.

Yes, the biggest suggestion I make to people trying to make money with Amazon is to really push the products on websites that are more product oriented in nature.

Marketing blogs, personal blogs etc. don’t work as well with Amazon but product focused websites perform a lot better (especially review ones)
