Free, Unique RSS Icons & Buttons
Why use the same, boring orange RSS icon? Call attention to your feed and add an ounce of flavor to your site with a refreshing button or icon.
Your RSS feed will never be ignored again. :)
Notes:
Please “Save As” to your own PC and upload to your Web server. That way if I ever move or delete these icons, they won’t appear as broken images on your site.
The icons marked “Transparent GIF” will blend in with any background color.
Enjoy and please Stumble this post if you find my graphics useful. Thanks. ;)

Nice work, but to answer your question, “Why use the same, boring orange RSS icon?”
Well, they’re standard.
Using the same icons helps visitors to not only your site, but others:
1) Find your feed link if they’re looking for it
2) Recognize many sites have RSS feeds (if everyone used different icons, some visitors might not put the pieces together)
And might I suggest the orange buttons are not really that easy to “ignore”? They’re orange!
Hi Lisa- great job with the icons. Really pretty.
I just stumbled and and used delicious to bookmark this post.
Bet it took you a while to make.
Now I just need to figure out how to use them instead of the standard icon- is there a tutorial around that teaches that?
All the best,
Eren
Eren, thank you. Just right-click and save as to your PC. Then upload them to your Web server. You would just use a basic img HTML tag to add them like you would any other image. You won’t be able to upload them to feedburner, but you can manually add it to your blog and put a link to your RSS feed along side it.
Uh, Eren, there are good reasons to never, ever use any icon from this page.
If you want a big icon, use a big one from the Developer Kit here:
http://feedicons.com/
For more information on why you should only use the standard icons, see the official release from Mozilla (yes, the people who make Firefox):
http://www.mozilla.org/foundation/feed-icon-guidelines/
Also, not sure if you knew this, but the back story on the feed icons is that there used to be an icon that just said “RSS” but a user wrote in to Mozilla, complaining their browser was saying “ASS”. Solution: Use a symbol. Thus the feed icon was born.
I followed the link to the Mozilla guidelines. According to what’s documented there a few of these icons would probably not be appropriate. However you can use different color RSS icons to match the colors of your site if you so choose. They just said to make use of such icon “minimal”. Haha.
Anyways I LIKE your icons! I just moved to my new site and I was looking around for a red RSS button. The orange is awful and clashes.
Awesome work.
Nimish, simply right-click and “save as” to download them to your PC and then upload the images to your web sever. Now you would just add the images like you would any other image on your site.

nice collection, Lisa… but I am looking for a bigger one! Got any?
Just kidding, of course! :)
