I agree with what you stated; the main problem, in my opinion, is that most people apply the 9-to-5 approach to making a website. Your video very well summarized what it takes to succeed online! Great video, Lisa!

Excellent video, Lisa! So many people think that making money online = getting rich quick! It’s so much more work than many people realize and you really conveyed that nicely. ;-)

Great video Lisa. So often people think that it is so simple, they have read somewhere or have even seen something online or on television that makes them think that it is as easy as creating a site and waiting for the money to start coming in. It is an enormous amount of work and there is no easy way.

One thing I learned the hard way was that an affiliate site with no content will not work.

A year ago I invested in a marketing affiliate site venture that cost me $5,500 of my hard earned money.

I invested $5,500 and even created my own site. To date, I have made a total of $3.

I have been trying to recoup my investment, but hey once the money is gone it’s gone.

My story can be found at:

Lisa, I enjoyed watching your video. It shows that you know your topic. Like you said, it not simply about setting up a website and wait for it to generate a revenue for you, your success will mostly depend of one’s dedication, drive, determination, patience, and hard work to stand out the crowd. Thanks! – Javier.

Hi, Lisa…
Been browsing and reading through your site; came upon it by a google search for simple CSS coding. I really appreciate the time and effort you’ve taken in building / maintaining / posting here.
As you can tell by my blog’s name (nowthatsgreatinfo.com), I’m an avid reader/researcher/writer and have lots of varied interests that I enjoy posting on…my “spin” is my life experience + my (at times) sarcastic-humor style. I’m a granny and there is so much out there that’s so interesting…guess I’m blogging to blog – but I’m really a “used-to-be MLM’er-now-a-closet affiliate marketer” and I’m LOST at how to tie in affiliate products with this WordPress site I LOVE (am I just a conceited old gal??) and get traffic flowing (readership).
I’m really new to blogging and the platforms available; chose WordPress but have troubles sometimes; I have my own offline small business and am raising 2 grandkids…so I guess what I’m asking is: my topics are everything and mostly evergreen…so my audience is — everyone??
Any help/advice you’d care to share will be greatly appreciated; constructive criticism, too.
Thanks so much.
Love your site.
Allyson
