    Miss Lisa,
Thank you for the advice ,as well as, sharing that “awesome” story. It was very personal…I could tell. However, times have changed as you eluded to. I also “dibbled and dabbled” with websites around those years (2002-2003). Not only websites, but a few different types of media businesses, and I failed at many. But the lessons I’ve learned about marketing “as a whole” is priceless thanks to those tough periods.

    Lisa,

I love your site. You keep it real! I truly believe that staying connected to you can cause so many people to learn “what it really takes” to be successful online. Failures are a part of that process that we must go through to reach our goals. Thanks again!

    Hello Lisa,

I just read this article & I’ve been afraid of failing all of this time is why I haven’t actually started building my site yet. But after this I’m going to pick it back up & get started right away again!

    Thanks Lisa

I decided to overcome my fear of the unknown and learn about RSS feeds to aid distribution of my blogs. Starting with your article (naturally) –

    http://www.2createawebsite.com/traffic/create-rss-feeds.html

It took me about two minutes to understand the game and what to do about it. Now I have two blog feeds going into blogdirectory001 and will add more. Thanks.

    Great video.

There’s much value in hearing not only about one’s success but also what we learn through our failures (and or challenges).

I recently had one of my blogs mentioned on a radio show a couple of weeks ago, and though I had been writing on it for approximately a year I only decided to seriously try to write and develop a readership back in July…..

So all the information I’ve learned from you’re website and videos (as well as others) have started to open very interesting doors for me.

I’m not really making money at it yet… but that’s not my sole purpose. I love what I’ve been writing about.

    Thanks!

Guess my current blog could be see as a failure, but at this time, its mostly more a personal blog and a money blog… lol Anyway, like your ideas and the way you explain how you build your Web career. Inspiring and a lot of useful info. Love it!

I first found your site a couple of years ago. And, since then you’ve helped me out through emails and your forum. I’ve recently started watching your you tube channel and I can see how invested you are in helping people all over again. Now, I’m looking forward to the next steps for my site, and those involve many of your video tips on monetization, links, and so on- plus the SBI help (thanks, for that recommendation, too 🙂

You’re sharing of these “failures” is another way you’re giving a platform to step from, saving us years of struggle…All I can say, is “thanks” 🙂

This is timely because I’m at a crossroads right now with my writing, my full-time career, my personal life and I’m waffling back-and-forth about going back to school. I’ve been realizing that being afraid of failure is really holding me back and your video just gave me the positive twist to failing. Thanks for making it real for me. Another great video. Keep doing what you’re doing.

Most people tend to gravitate towards money making sites thinking that is where the money is. The fact remains that there are 1000’s of other profitable niches that have nothing to do with money making and it is easier to rank for them in the SERP’s.

Lisa, I’ve watched all of your videos now and I’m getting into reading all your blog entries. Thank you so much for all the great information. It’s interesting hearing about your failures. After a few years of handing out free information on how to do my dollmaking/sculpture work I found people talking about monetizing my website to earn money from my content. The problem was, most of my free advice was dispensed over numerous forums and my website was pretty much only used for a gallery. After seeing your videos I’ve been trying to channel my followers into my blog and website and am currently remaking my website to house my blog instead of using blogspot. Income has been slow through adsense, but Im focusing on my traffic and content at the moment so it’s no biggy. Lisa, I think you could be changing the course of quite a few lives here. I know you’ve changed the course of mine 🙂

So true Lisa. I think making money online should be several hundred dollars every month, but a few dollars. At least before people start trying to teach others. That’s why i’m just now starting to teach people about the subject, except I call it Websidual income 🙂 Anyways have a good day and thanks for all the lessons.

Good question, Kino. I believe the most common reason is the inability to bring enough targeted traffic to a website. Now, the reason for that could be a variety of ones… poor writing, ineffective marketing techniques, lack of unique/fresh content, no focus you name it. But typically it boils down to one or more of the reasons above.

Hey I just had a comment about how to create a blog and I thought Lisa, why don’t you create a website like that. It would follow the 2create branding and seems like a natural progression. Especially because many people see a distinction between creating a website and creating a blog.

I always appreciate your videos. I understand your rationale for having a waiting period before being allowed into adsense but what if a person creates an internet sensation! Wouldn’t the owner of the site or blog miss out on income because they were not signed up? So, my stance is to allow users to join whenever they want.

    Thanks for sharing with us!

Hi lisa, that video further reinstated what I’ve been learning the past couple of months in my BMM lessons, always develop a cult like following. The anonymous blogger will have difficulty getting lots of readers because the readers won’t ‘know’ the blogger.

It’s good to see people walking the walk because a lot of people, myself included at times may say something but not be it. Suffice to say, I keep it 100 and only speak of my experiences. I think integrity is twofold in blogging.

Really great video Lisa, I rated it 5 stars in YouTube 🙂

Doesn’t sound like you had that many failures but it was interesting to hear about the few that you did.

I agree with everything you said, but especially the part about “how to make money”-sites. I see them everywhere now a days, and if only the sites would make sure to let people know that they try themselves to make money, then it would be interesting to follow their progress – but the way many sites today are, they try to give you tips on how to do this and that – tips that might be valid, but not something the site owners have had success with (if they even tried it) themselves.

“You can not be afraid to fail.”

BINGO! I can’t think of anybody in the history of mankind who has achieved something great without experience failure. It’s just part of the ball game and by welcoming it with open arms, we can better “take the blows” and learn from our failures.

You’re right about entertainment sites too. I had a lot of trouble monetizing one of my entertainment sites. I was okay with that, because I originally created the site for fun, but I did eventually find ways to monetize it as well.

Thanks for another great video, Lisa. 🙂
