Serge Ferland says
Hi Lisa, my name is Serge i joined your news letter for the simple reason that apprx 10 months ago i discovered you when i was doing research on how to become a website owner and make a go at it. I watched some of your youtube productions and also read some of you blogs. But for some reason i had to find out if i could do it by myself and learn at the same time, well guess what? i discovered that if you have no clue how to start or were to go you just get taken avantage of and end up losing money or left on your own to figure it out once you paid the money. The strange thing that i discovered is that some of these dishonest people out there doing this phone you at home and ask the one question (do you work at this time) which i answer (yes i do full time that is) and then they get even friendlier and ask would you be able to invest x amount of money. And that is were i got caught i paid like a foul hoping for an honest transaction with an honest result, was ever wrong got nailed for $400.00 the 1st time and the 2nd time got the website was getting things working it was progressing slowly but that seemed to be normal as i understood, then after 3 months no more email’s no more communications, just totally dead in the water with no access to anything and out $600.00. But during the time that this was all happening and me being hard headed i checked out SBI was so impressed with what i read on the site that’s comments from actual people that you can get in touch with that i bought the 1 year membership and printed the short version of the 10 day big picture action guide. Now her i am sitting and thinking what did i just do! spent more money and really don’t know if it was a good thing. I then remembere your name for some reason or another don’t ask i honestly do not know why, but i remembered for some reason.
I started reading some of your blogs and saw that you were transparent and honest and that the way you write is so easy to understand. So my decision to subscribe to your blog is that i am going to start all over and do it the way its should be done, and putting money done only when its required to make things move slowly and surely in the right direction to achieve that monetary gain when it is time.

Hello Serge,
I can relate to what you are saying about learning how to make a website profitable. I believe you are feeling overwhelmed by all the things involved in creating a working website. It can be difficult to clearly see how everything connects.
I am in the process of building a website, using SBI. I believe SBI is legitimate and a great product. However, the amount of information on SBI can be overwhelming. Finding information can be challenging sometimes at SBI too.
However, they do a really good job giving you the big picture of proper keyword research, the power of creating valuable content, which draws traffic to your website, which allows you to monetize your website.
It is a good program in my opinion, especially for beginners. With SBI you must be patient and bite off a little bit at a time. Remember their mascot is the turtle, slow and steady wins the race.
Also, please take advantage of the forums on SBI and Lisa’s forum. You can find valuable answers there.
Do not be discouraged. Be patient and keep working at learning about websites. Lisa has an e-book called Niche Website Success. It gives you a step by step approach to complete the whole process. This may be very helpful for you because you will be able to see how all the pieces come together.
Lisa’s e-book is not expensive. It explains things clearly. I highly recommend you grab a copy.
There is also a free course on Udemy.com call “30 Day Online Crash Course.” It is very good too.
Keep moving forward. You can do it. Learn a little bit at a time. You will be surprised at where you are 6 months from now.
Good Luck!

You’re welcome Serge.
Lisa Irby says
Hi Bruce, thanks for taking time out of your day to help someone else. Awesome.
Bruce Callaway says
Hey Lisa,
It was my pleasure to help Serge. I like to help in any way I can.
I didn’t want to overstep my boundaries and step on your toes. I am a rookie, like Serge. I really related to what he said about not knowing where to begin. I do not feel lost now, because of learning I have done. I still have a long way to go.
Plus, I am also using SBI so I connected with him on that issue too. Besides, I figure you put the “Post Comment” there for us to get involved.
I was also thinking, “It’s Saturday evening and Lisa is taking a well deserved break. This poor guy is going to have to wait a while for an answer.” He sounded really stressed and perplexed, which I can understand.
On another topic, you advised me not to pursue website marketing as a niche. I know that is wise advice but it really intrigues me. I figure if I learn it, it helps my chances of success on the web.
To help me have credibility, I am learning website marketing as much as possible before I go active with my site. I am learning a lot! I do not expect to know everything before going active with my site but I will know more than I do now.
I am writing a book I will publish this year that is not related to internet marketing as a topic. By learning about website marketing, I am learning new ways to market my book that I would not have thought of before. So, learning website marketing is already helping me.
Lisa, I must give you a compliment. You have “it”! Whatever “it” is, you have “it”!
Also, I mentioned Udemy.com to Serge. I don’t know if you are familiar with that site. They have many online courses available for newbies and others.
I didn’t see your matereials on that site. You might consider putting a course or class on that site. It might be another source of subscribers for you.
Thanks for being so gracious and helpful.
Till Next Time,
Lisa Irby says
Serge, Bruce gave you awesome advice — especially with taking it a step at a time.
Right now, your main focus should be to provide value for whatever niche you choose. Think about what is in demand, what info you can contribute to build trust and just start there.
You don’t have to learn everything in one day. Take your time!

1. Website? Yes, but as a 15-yr mortgage Broker. Feds regulated me out of business, so am transitioning over to an affiliate publisher/advertiser. No website there yet.
2. Why subscribe? Because after 3 months of research, haven’t found anyone to your caliber. Ethical, blunt, professional, successful, knowledgeable, Candid & moreover – thorough. Created a list of 5 mentors and just put you at the top. (Bumped Earl Nightingale out – Yeah, you’re that good)
3. What to learn about? With home loans I’m on top of my game here in AZ. On web-selling I’m a babe in diapers – so must learn everything. Right now I’m a sponge – and your content is my bottle (purchased your book yesterday Lisa).
4. Biiiiiggest challenge?? Tourette Syndrome (lol), just kidding. A little humor keeps it light. Biggest challenge is making that very first dollar in online commission. That very first dollar… Big learning curve here, like going to college, but a crash course over a few months.
PS- When I hit $10k in monthly commissions next year, I’m giving a shout out to you for getting me there. Michael

Hi Lisa,
I’m working on a new blog, m first, but haven’t launched it yet. I decided to subscribe to you because I saw your video on AdSense for newbies and thought you were very sensible and direct. You gave me a lot to think about. I love my content and think it’s somewhat unique but am still assessing the competition. My biggest challenge is using a WordPress template and customizing it to a look I like. Not spending $ if I don’t have to! Also just getting started is a challenge, learning about the marketing end of things, and getting myself psychologically to get over the fear of committing to this! Looking forward to your future posts 🙂

Yes, learning to customize the theme can be tricky. Don’t forget you can always search for customize + [your theme name] and there may be articles. The tricky part is every theme is different so it’s hard to give one set of rules per theme.

Have a website, and working on a couple of blogs in different areas that I am interested in.
I guess I signed up here, as you sound approachable and ‘real’ 🙂 And someone who says just go and try things. You explain the steps you need to go through, and what to focus on. It can be overwhelming reading through all the SEO and web building blogs on other sites. I became disillusioned with the amount of back linking I thought I would have to do, to compete with other websites. So have decided to give niche website building a good go instead.
I think you have answered a lot of questions that I already had about building niche websites, so I’m here to stay in touch with how it will evolve in the future. As even just 5 years ago, (in web developing time) seems a long way off!
I’d also like to know how to optomise social media to it’s best ability in order to amplify messages and content, and the best ways of going about this.
Thanks for sharing the information you have produced so far!

I chose your newsletter because I was just looking for website building and I first just clicked on your page because I liked the picture and secondly I saw you provided value and i felt you were genuine and feel I can trust you.
I would like to learn how to build my websites and be able to monetize them by selling ads and also selling products and services.
My current challenges are too many ideas and lots of enthousiam but I know I have found the right person. Thanks God for making me find you.
Lisa Irby says
Hey Chris
I think your situation is common (too many ideas). The key is to think about something that you have a genuine interest in AND make sure there is an audience. For example, you say you love art and photography. Is there something specific about those subjects that you like where you could teach others what you know?
For example you could create a site about photography for beginners and offer tips on how to buy the right camera, etc. Use the Google Keyword Planner to research phrases that people are searching for. I have a video here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fVIxWnYmNaA
Then research ways you can monetize it. You mentioned you wanted to sell ads and that is usually the last step because you have to build up traffic first. So spend some time thinking of your unique angle that you want to take with your site.

3. I want information on producing a quality site, as well as on monetizing that site efficiently. My goal is to live well on the income from my site and my creative works.
4.My biggest challenge right now is the technical aspect of creating/maintaining/monetizing my site; I am passionate about the content for my site and I write well, so those bits are a cinch.

2) I subscribed to your newsletter because I enjoy your videos and find you to be very knowledgeable and articulate. You convey information so that it is easy to understand. You seem to genuinely want to help others succeed in life. You have a beautiful spirit and personality.
3) I would like to learn more about WEBSITE AUTOMATION, particularly about AUTO RESPONDERS, AUTOMATED INVENTORY ADJUSTMENT. In addition to that I would also appreciate it if you would create some articles/videos about: ORDER FULFILLMENT, SHIPPING & HANDLING PRACTICES, TAXES, RETURNS, COMPILING A MASTER EMAIL LIST, COPY RIGHTS, PATENTS FOR LOGOS, TRADEMARKS, WORKAROUND TO INCORPORATE GOOGLE ADSENSE INTO WORD PRESS WEBSITE, USING WORD PRESS FOR ECOMMERCE.
4) My biggest challenge/fear right now is: “Right now I receive Social Security Disability Insurance which pays the bills. Do I take a chance and give that up to pursue a venture in an uncertain online business”?

Hi Lisa, how’s going over that side of the pond? Many thanks for the material I have watched so far. You are very easy to listen to and watch. I like your no holds barred presentation-you say like it is. Yes, I’ve got a squeeze page site-only just gone live on FB got two subscribers-will have another look on Aweber after this to see if there’s more.
At the grand ol’ of 62 I retired from Psych care assistant work and am now a full time carer at home so I need a job that I can do at home. I have dabbled with another CB site it hasn’t done anything yet but I will go back to it.
I have put a lot of work into the above site, (it’s hard going for the first one) one of the hardest things is probably the video recording bit. For some of us it ain’t natural being videoed trying to appear… natural-you know what I mean. I have also used some PLR material in the product.
I am still at the bottom of the learning curve regarding FB, it’s still quite foreign to me talking to “friends” I’ve never met and “chatting” like we’re old buddies albeit by way the keyboard, I’ve got to do Twitter yet also. Yeah, I know I’m a bit of a dinosaur but maybe I’ll blossom into a handsome prince, who knows?
So there I am, I just downloaded your book while my coffee was cooling down, all went hunkey dorey thanks. I will be watching your videos and coming back to your site many times I think. You seem to personify quality, integrity and openness, as illustrated in your subscribers emails–well done young lady.
Have a great day.

Leticia says
Hi Lisa!
First, let me say that I am very delighted to see someone as honest as you speaking and giving true and honest advice on the subject of creating websites and making money through internet business or marketing. There is one other person that I found on the internet along with you over the last couple of weeks that spoke to me as people that I can trust. I pride myself on being a people person and trying to help where I can and not taking advantage of people’s weaknesses. I have encountered several individuals or groups taking advantage of people’s wekanesses on the internet claiming to be able to help make money quickly online because they know you really need money and fast. I admit that right now, I need to make some additional money besides my full time 9 to 5 job as quickly as I can but I do not want to be scammed or do anything illegal. Most of these people and groups are either not legitimate or even if they can technically say they are legitimate, the tasks that you have to complete in order to make the money are very tedious and time consuming for the amount of money, illegal, spamming others to get them to click your links, etc. I would complete the information sections and maybe complete an affiliate offer in order to get the information just to be stopped in my tracks when I realized what was going on and I refuse to stoop to such low levels. So, I just did not go any further with their so called offers. It is just a good thing that I really did not spend a lot of money on these crazy sites, just a few dollars or so along with some free trials I had to cancel. I am in the legal profession and I find these sites deplorable. But then I came across your wesbite and videos and felt a sense of relief. Even though it may take time to get started, I feel that once I start, my success will gradually increase and sustain. I don’t mind making a little bit of money at first. Anything is better than nothing right now. But I want to do it correctly. You are on the up and up for sure. And I think I had encountered you before on your napturallycurly.com site. I transitioned in 2009 and have been natural ever since.
1) Do you have a website yet?
I do not have a website yet. I am in the process of creating one via a web designer for my legal and mediation business I am starting. I will first have a landing page while he builds the rest of the site. However, I plan to create other websites/blogs myself for the purposes of my internet business. That is where your help will come in tremendously because I know nothing about it.
Let me make one correction on the website thing. I actually am a consultant for Grace Adele handbags and accessories, an MLM business that I am also trying to get better at. I do have a website for that that the company provides. So, I will need to use what I learn from you to promote that site effectively because right now it is not. But it is up and running on the internet to be seen and to accept orders. I just to need to get better at promoting. I have so many things I am trying to accomplish as you can see. LOL!
2) Why did you subscribe to my newsletter?
I subscribed to your newsletter after I came across your Youtube videos searching for information on how to make money using Clickbank and legitimate opportunities to make money using the internet. When I came across your videos and websites, I felt that you were presenting yourself honestly and that you knew exactly what you wre speaking about. I would like to keep track of your sites and what you are doing and gain any knowledge from you that you are willing to share.
3) What would you like to learn more about? Please be specific.
How to creat a professional website and blog from scratch being a newbie.
How to choose niches.
What to promote and sell and how to approach affiliate opportunities.
How to control what ads are on my site.
How to gain followers and drive lots of traffic to my sites.
How to help others not get scammed.
4) What is your biggest challenge right now? (if any)
Being a newbie and not knowing anything.
Financial. I have to be careful how much I spend at one time but I know I need to spend something to purchase domains, hosting ang tools for learning and organization. Knowing which ones are the best to start with.
Thanks a lot, Lisa. I really look forward to staying in touch with you and receiving your newsletters.

I do not have a web site yet. I am with SBI. I am determining what my web site will be. I had settled on Web Site Marketing, until I listened to your two videos early this morning.
You really made me think when you said, “Do not start with a topic like web marketing because people will not listen to you because you have not made money!” I said, “Oh boy, do I have to start over on selecting a topic?” I chose that topic because SBI says, “If you pick something you will be passionate about learning, that is ok.” I also picked that topic because I was having a hard time finding something where the numbers fit SBI suggestions for demand and supply. Numbers on Web Site Marketing were 4869 for demand and 31307 for supply for Web Site Marketing.
Now, I understand you do not agree with the theory that the number has to be at least 30,000.
The theme I had in mind is Web Site Marketing. I felt I could be successful with this topic because it is something I am passionate about. I am learning a lot, fast. Most importantly, I plan on speaking (writing & youtube) to people that are behind me, people that know less than I know about the topic. Plus, I will put the information in my own voice.
For example, when I first started working on my site, I planned to use Facebook advertising to reach a lot of customers. Now, I understand that is not how it works on the web because you must provide quality content to build a relationship to get quality conversion numbers. You must also capture email addresses to build a list that gets bigger and bigger over time. Those kernels of information can be very valuable to someone just getting started, as you know. I would share this type of info with people behind me.
I subscribed to your newsletter because you give insightful info that helps me get stronger, much quicker. I like the fact that your experience speaks volumes. I know that doesn’t help my argument of doing a web site on marketing.
My biggest challenge is coming up to speed on tying this new language and concepts together into one system. I know. It’s a process. It takes time.
You can help me by giving me suggestions on how I can be successful with a web site on web site marketing, if that is possible. LOL!
I remember you said, it’s not like it was years ago when a person could write content, sit back and the site just continues to make money. I’m curious, if you don’t mind telling me, about how much time do you spend on your online business each week?
I really like SBI and its concepts. I don’t care about the web site appearance. I plan on being an SBI affiliate and recruiting new SBI owners. This ties into my web site niche of Web Site Marketing.
You are very impressive. You come across as intelligent, balanced and determined.
Thanks, Bruce
Lisa Irby says
Hi Bruce
I’m honestly not a fan of going this route until you are actually making money first. I tried this route before I was making money and had no success — and this was years and years ago before things were as saturated as they are now. So I would imagine that road would be even more challenging today.
Not saying it’s impossible, but if you think about it — people follow people on that topic because they have proof that they are making money. When you’re not, it’s harder to get on the radar and you get swallowed up in all the “how to make money” sites written by people who have not yet proven or shown anything new.
Of course you can succeed at any topic, but I would strongly suggest you look into other areas. I know promoting SBI! is tempting because of the commissions but it’s such a thick, thick, market right now. There are plenty of other subjects out there that have good paying affiliate programs. I hope you really think hard on this before making the decision.
I work at least 60 hours a week and that might even be understated. But it’s not continuous. 3 hours here, 2 hours there, but I do spend a lot of time. Fortunately my income is mostly passive so it’s not that I HAVE to spend that much time. I just enjoy it.
Bruce Callaway says
Thanks Lisa,
I value your experience and knowledge.
I haven’t let go of my idea yet, but your arguments are strong. As you know, sometimes, letting go can be a tough pill to swallow. I will also ask SBI’ers if there is a way to make the web site work.
I am writing an ebook I plan on selling but when I looked at demand and supply on that topic, the numbers were not impressive, at all. I do not remember what they were.
I also have other affiliate items, besides SBI, I plan on marketing.
60 hours per week reinforces what you said earlier about picking a topic we love.
I can tell you run into a lot of resistance promoting SBI because when you talk about it in your videos, you take a deep breath or hold your head a certain way, like you are saying, “I know you guys do not want to hear this but…”
I will run into that too, so I will take your advice and not make SBI my main affiliate product. Yes, the commission is tempting.
I didn’t mention I am really good at researching, finding answers to problems and making that info available for others. So, even though I am not an expert, I can find solutions for people. If I don’t know an answer, I will be honest and say, “I don’t know the answer to that question, I will work on finding an answer for you.
Ok, one last thing. I’m thinking of presenting my (web site marketing) articles to my readers as, “Here is some information that will help you with your internet business.” That way I am not saying point blank, “This will help you make money, guaranteed.” I am saying, “Here is some info for you to consider that can help you on your journey, save you some time and maybe save you some money.” The title would not be Web Site Marketing, it would be a much smaller niche of that topic.
There is value there right? I am not trying to be a consultant that someone invites to their company to set up their marketing approach. I just want to provide helpful information on topics related to Web Site Marketing, to build a list.
I am not saying I am the expert on marketing web sites. Aren’t there new people coming online everyday who will find this info helpful. I know, you are saying but you don’t have credibility on the topic, but isn’t that what SBI is all about, slowly putting info out there that builds a relationship with readers?
I will also ask SBI’ers if there is a way make the web site work. You may have saved me a lot of time, which is one of our most valuable assets.
I will stop there, before you say, “Enough hardhead, I already told you my answer. Go away!” LOL!
Thanks for the great insights,
Bruce

Hi Lisa, so glad I found your site 🙂
1. I have a hosted DIY site http://thejuiceplanet.com and a wordpress blog http://planetsarah.com
2. I subscribed because I realise now that I have potential to make some money from my efforts and I want to know the best way to move forward.
3. Specifically I would like to know how to put my blog and website together. I started the blog ages ago, and after a while started blogging on one topic, which then inspired me to set up a niche site for better navigation. I need to pull it all together and still have control over my advertising, so I guess I really want to know how to structure it all better. I thought I couldn’t put advertising on my blog, so I think that might be the first thing I need to understand. Oh, and I would also like to know how to maximise advertising without interrupting the flow of content for my readers.
4. My biggest challenge is getting organised. Sitting down and putting together a plan of where I am going with this AND establishing a work routine to start treating this like a long term investment/business.
Look forward to working through your site and learning from you.
Cheers
Sarah 🙂

I’ve had a website for several years. I even built it myself, on WordPress! I have been using it very literally as a Content Management Site: I occasionally blog, I have a page with “resources”, and if I make a good business contact in the real world, I can say I have a website! Recently, my business contacts have been people who want simple websites like mine. I make sure they understand I’m not a website designer, but can put together a simple website. That’s how I found YOU!
It was actually your HEX# converter that led me to your site and I’ve been hooked ever since. I’ve been watching your videos and reading your website for the past two months — I can’t believe it took me this long to sign up for your newsletter. Now, though, I’ll be able to look forward to having your wisdom delivered directly to me.
My biggest challenge WAS working with WordPress — but you’ve gotten me over that hump. (Your forum, Website Babble, has also been a huge help.) Now, I’m inspired to convert my own website into something more vibrant and profitable. In fact, you’ve inspired me to change my whole business model. So, I’m reading everything you write about Niche Sites. Now that I know the value of everything you turn out, I’ll probably buy your latest book. (A couple weeks ago I went to Website Palace and got 3 new domain names and hosting. Last week I got my AdSense account, and today I signed up for Commission Junction and Linkshare.)
I think my biggest challenges will be: 1) creating valuable content; and 2) designing a sustainable strategy. You, however, provide good advice and encouragement. Further, I’m not afraid of hard work, nor have I any illusions of making money overnight.
I’m hanging on your every word, Lisa. Keep cranking it out!

1) Do you have a website yet? No
2) Why did you subscribe to my newsletter? I found it doing a search on a search engine and found out that it is excellent web site. In contrast what I complained about in question 4 your web site is well layed out and links are easy to find. The user isn’t overwhelmed with a bunch of things that distract from the aim of the page.
3) What would you like to learn more about? Please be specific. Developing a Web Site and using different programing languages.
4) What is your biggest challenge right now? (if any) I have set up web sites before but they were not very exciting. I do think that a lot of web site programmers try to do each other with gimmicks and the site is pretty to look at but is almost useless to the user. Hard to find links to what you want and have to visit too many pages to find out minimum information.

1) Do you have a website yet? No… This is something I’ve wanted to do for years. It always seemed quite overwhelming and I’d keep putting it off. Then life kinda got in the way and I quit trying for years. I played a couple of very addictive games online for awhile and finally decided if I was going to put forth that kind of effort, I could, or should be making a few dollars out of doing so. So, here I am once again trying to figure out all the ends and outs of internet marketing. At least I’m not coming totally green as the 1st time (thank goodness), but then, many things have changed, as you know… especially with things the new blogs like WordPress and all the associated templates and plugins. Wow! That alone is a study in itself. Anyway, I’m really going to give it an all out try this time… Thank you so much for your help. I was delighted to stumble upon your site.
2) Why did you subscribe to my newsletter? Oh my goodness, WHY NOT? 🙂 That is the question… You have been tremendous help already. I am on a really tight budget especially at times. So patience is the name of the game, and then I have had a time coming up with a niche… but I think I have finally decided on one. You have one of the most helpful sites on this subject on the web, at least that I’ve seen. You explain everything so well,,, on a level even a beginner can understand. In a few places, you get a little fast… usual in the more complicated, advanced arenas.
3) What would you like to learn more about? Please be specific. I’m not sure yet, but I’m not bashful… (smile) I’ll gladly let you know when I figure it out.
4) What is your biggest challenge right now? (if any) $$$ $$$ and getting it all together for a terrific website. I know that will take time; I’m willing to invest the time; sometimes my patience wears thin. I confirm double time that I am NOT A SPAMMER. I am here to learn, learn, learn. If I ever do something I shouldn’t, just correct me please, because it will be out of ignorance, which I am very good and capable of doing.

Hi Lisa, I have seen your blog on different results pages. I started building a authority website in February 2013 for the building an online business. I’ve been looking though 2 create a blog, and I’ve seen some of your youtube videos.
The problem I having with my site , is I think it’s not engaging enough. No body leaves a comment. I ask people to leave a comment and I write my content, no spun, all original.
To make this comment I had to scroll a long time. You are a very engaging person.
David T says
1. I don’t have a website yet. It’s coming.
2. Why subscribe? I have limited free time but a sure-fire e-book to get out. (I know – re “sure fire” I’ll explain). So in a few spare hours I’ve just been reading up on how to SUCCESSFULLY bring out an e-book. For a newbie it’s not so simple as you are starting with basics such as getting one’s first website. Since all is new to me I was trying to research things quickly by Googling, and googled “ClickBank”. A fairly high hit there was your video on that, and you seem really down-to-earth, earthy, and you keep it simple. So here I am 🙂
3. What seeking to learn? I have a book ready to go and don’t want to delay more than I have to. Problem is lack of time through being busy with RL work and other RL things – for now. So: have just been looking up clickbank, fine, and need to learn how to convert my book into an e-book, get a site for it (I’ve never done one but a friend can help), get affiliates, and most importantly drive traffic to my product. It’s a real shame every day that passes without this product coming out. You see …. there’s a certain celeb who is famous for not doing interviews, but has millions of fans worldwide. You can scour the net and find virtually no interviews with this celeb. Well, it just so happens that I did a 3 and a half hour interview and have transcribed it. That’s what I mean by “sure fire”, though like any product it’s income could still be minimal if few get to hear about it. So driving traffic by whatever means and letting people know this exists – letting fans know – is key.
4. Biggest challenge? Just kind of as in “3” above. Needing to do it all at once and one’s first site; along with limited free time BUT the feeling I should get this done quickly. I should add that it’d only be my first e-book: I douubt others will be so naturally successful as this one, but the longer mid-term aim is to try half a dozen and see how successful that is.

2) Why did you subscribe to my newsletter? found you by chance on youtube, interested in your sbj, as I have been learning a lot about it from my very patient son so I have good grasp of what you are talking about. Your messaging was very clear and easy to understand, helps me learn more
3) What would you like to learn more about? Please be specific. making money is a bonus, affiliate programs I want to know more about. I think more important tho is getting seen and having a professional looking site w reputable info and not letting it get too tacky like I am just trying to sell stuff
4) What is your biggest challenge right now? (if any) bit unclear about copywriting, altho I always leave author mention, but some written material doesn’t provide that. Also challenged w keeping up to date info / how much / trying to keep up w FB page info as well. Also challenged w what is something goes wrong / off in the back end, I know how to input things (wigets etc) but if they break? not so sure I could fix. Thank you for your excellent videos and website info

Hello Lisa,
As of present I have not developed a website nor blog yet. I am constantly researching “How To” articles, videos and other tutorials to get started. I am somewhat familiar with domains, hosting, etc. due to past employment with a hosting company. I have several domains that I am able to use so that’s a great pre-req, I assume.
I chose to subscribe to your newsletter because I am on a daily quest to expand my knowledge about creating a stronger presence online. I have dabbled in online article writing but not sure that’s for me. My writing is more introspective however I include external research to complete my work. I have a fb mostly for family and friends, nothing towards business. I focus small amounts of time on Google and Twitter, (which would probably explain the small amount of followers I have), but that’s where I center my business. With that said, I have come to trust your guidance and so far, so great : )
I am interested in and would like to learn more about subjects concerning article marketing tools, such as “The Best Spinner or Unique Article Wizard.” Would they be considered a waste of time and money? Are they cheats??
My biggest challenge is confidence, some days I’m good, then other days unsure. Although this may not be your expertise this is an obstacle for me. Thank you Lisa for your continued willing spirit to help me on my journey. You are very much appreciated.

1) Do you have a website yet? A few but only for testing solutions and concepts, color scheme’s, structures and functionality. I clean them out regularly to start another test.
2) Why did you subscribe to my newsletter?
I am now working about 6 months on this. I am about to build and maintain a Experts Blog with a lot of extra functionality.
I subscribed to your blog , and others for that matter, to work out a lot of topics I must answer before starting the site. Topics ranging from web building technology, security to the question what site color scheme is most attractive to the visitors population I am targetting. Even length and complexity of sentences is on my mind. What I found out soon is that starting a money making serious blog is the same as developing a new business. Not much of a difference really. By the way, money making is not my prime objective. I am 20 years in the IT business running multi million dollar it-projects mainly in infrastructure. That is where my passion is. And like you, I like to share my, after 20 years, extensive knowledge, but take a step further. The step further, that will be the core of the blog.
3) What would you like to learn more about? Please be specific.
As it is clear, the magic words are Passion, Long tail keywords and fill a demand.
But there is another one: How to create traffic on a expert blog, or a content authority blog as you would call it. That is what I am curious about. Another one is: What page structure matches best with my target audience and my objectives, same for color schemes.
4) What is your biggest challenge right now? (if any)
Traffic, traffic, traffic.
And SEO. I would really like to understand this better.
Ian Gaughan says
1) No website yet.
2) To learn about creating a site and possibly make some cash.
3) Do I need to know HTML/CSS or can I create a site without ?
4) I might have to take a break from my work, so need to learn quickly how to make some cash online. I know I won’t make cash quickly though.

Hi Lisa
1) Do you have a website yet?
Yes I have a blog which I have been building for the past 3 or 4 months.
2) Why did you subscribe to my newsletter?
Because I found your site to be very useful, with a wealth of information on some of the topics that I have been wanting more information about.
3) What would you like to learn more about? Please be specific.
I would love to know more about CSS and be able to custom design more of my blog. I also would love to increase my traffic!
4) What is your biggest challenge right now? (if any)
Getting people to see my blog posts is a real challenge. I have tried being interactive using Twitter and Facebook and trying to build relationships. I do get quite a few comments on my blog posts which is encouraging, and I do realise that it’s going to take some time to build a following. I would just like to know if there is more that I can do to help myself.
Thanks for adding me to your subscriber list. I look forward to reading more of your information and getting the weekly updates 🙂

1. No. I do not have a website.
2. I subscribed because I am passionate about the cancer-kids crisis out there, and would like to address it and help them and their families.
3. a) I would like to learn how to put a little book on a website which I create, to sell. b) I woud like to provide links for people to donate on my website to various foundations and organizations which have helped our family. c) I would like to earn enough online to pay for my groceries (my daughter who had cancer has a grocery store now).
d) I would like to create a blog for this new breed of people called “cancer-survivors” to write on… and much more!
4. My biggest challenges right now are that I must make an income because my husband’s health requires that he no longer drives truck and I am sometimes blind, so I cannot drive to a job. Also, my 2 teenage children left at home, need to be able to make an income.
My longterm objective: I want to help others through the maze that a child and his/her family is subjected to when they undergo chemo and radiation. I would like to somehow monetize some of the suggestions, since I know I would have paid anything when our family was trying to survive cancer…to know what I know now. To start with I do have a little book I wrote/illustrated about my life as a child in Senegal, West Africa while I was in the hospital with my daughter. However, the money is not my focus. The kids and families out there, undergoing what we did, are. I would like to set up an on-line business to address that need. Where do you suggest I start?

2. I subscribed because I found your website very helpful. I am currently selling on ebay and hate the ridiculous fees so I thought why not sell myself. Typed in a search for selling on my own website and your site was the first one I went to and found it very helpful and genuine.
3. Everything!!! I’m a kind of a natural techie and great with computers but the business and marketing side of it is pretty foreign and new to me.
4. My biggest challenge is that I am a stay at home mom for a very busy 23 month old little boy so finding the time to get work done is always an issue.
