This contest is over. Congratulations, Tara of http://www.aspectacledowl.com. Random.org chose your comment! I will be emailing you for your details.
If you’ve been anxiously awaiting my next theme giveaway…
Wait no more!
Once again, you will have the chance to win the StudioPress Genesis Framework AND the child theme of your choice! (Up to a $100 value, depending on the child theme you choose.)
If you already own the Genesis Framework then you can just select another child theme.
What’s So Great About The Genesis Framework?
1. Many of the themes include several dashboard options to make customization easy.
For example, the Prose Theme (what I use) is great for non-coders because it has loads of design/style options. You can adjust the font colors, font sizes and more right from the WordPress admin area.
2. Clean code! (Great for SEO, page loading and more.)
3. Crisp, clean layouts
4. Several of the themes are mobile responsive (which means the theme adjusts for easy reading on smaller devices like phones and tablets).
Soon all the StudioPress themes will be mobile responsive. (You can use the filter on this page to see which ones are already mobile friendly.)
5. They have amazing support! I always get a response within 3-5 hours.

Pinterest has been the best traffic source for selling my books on Amazon.
Article marketing on Street Articles hasn’t been productive for me, at all.
Jake says
I think that YouTube has been the most beneficial. My readers love to just watch instead of read and its easier to get my points across in a video too! My stats show that many people click thru from my link to a relevant article in the YouTube description, so this definitely helps my traffic.

Answering question 1: Getting backlinks to my site not only improved my search engine ranking but it also brought me lots of traffic from those domains.

I am still new to this and I’ve created my first blog 2 months ago, but I do have an answer to #1:
sharing it with your friends and family through Facebook or just word of month. My friends and family would give me advice on the direction that I should be heading. For example, what I should write on my next blog post or what not to include the next time I write. I’m just a teenager but I’ve decided to utilized my writing skills and what my area of expertise is….I hope this helps 🙂

Hi Lisa, thanks for the opportunity to get a FREE Premium WordPress Theme (need a new one for my new Domain) 😉
My Answer to Question:
2) Name one traffic-building tip or technique that has been a complete waste of time for your website.
Answer: It has got to be Twitter as I find it a total waste of time after building it for 3 to 4 years and nothing beneficial had come out of it despite a Following of 18,000s and more! Appending info regarding newly article posted on my blog seems totally ineffective at all.
Still assessing Google+, IBOToolBox and Facebook which has a better responses from the community there.
Cheers and have a great day!

2) Name one traffic-building tip or technique that has been a complete waste of time for your website.
A) I’ve been trying to get “likes” on Facebook and have been signing in as The Facebook Page, then looking for “other pages” to Like & Comment on…but have had zero responses to Liking my Page. Even took out a small ad to generate LIKES…nothing.
Katie says
The question: Name one traffic-building tip or technique that has been the most useful for your website.
The answer:
Well, my website is under maintenance now, BUT when it was up and running a few days ago I used to focus on a certain keyword. I didn’t see it helping much. I watched one of your videos (for starters in website building, like myself) and what hit me like a rock on the head was one word: Content! You said, “find something you love doing, something you know how to do well and This will be your success” In my head, and I hope I am right, this means that a website without a good content will never get traffic. And most importantly if I love what I do 3 years from now then my website will do well.
One of the reasons my site is under some changes is exactly that. I am working on it for almost 10-12 hrs a day and I love it. And I can say that for the first time it doesn’t frustrates me.
So, yup, Content for me is the 1st thing that leads to traffic. Content and especially content I love and know about!

I am new blogger so can not answer question 1 but 2. spamming on yahoo answers is a bad way of getting traffic. You get a traffic and comments from Yahoo but not the targeted one but with the offer to get paid traffic.
Adnan Tanvir Reza says
I am answering No (2)
At first I targeted one specific keyword for my website. It was getting good traffic based on the competition for the keyword. And then I did something I thought would increase my site’s traffic but it did exactly the opposite. I stuffed my site with keywords here and there in a bizarre way thinking that the more the keyword density, the more traffic I would get for the keyword in the search engines. But that step drove my site away from first page to 12th page. I had to work hard since then to get my site back to it’s previous position and that cost me a lot of time.

1. Automation! Whenever I post onto my blog, it automatically sends the post to over 10 different social media platforms including Digg, Google +, Facebook, Tumblr, etc. Once you figure out how to do it, every post you submit is broadcasted across the web through multiple mediums. You get readers of all types with little to no hassle. Much of my traffic comes from individuals clicking the links that have been automated.

For me, the most helpful tip was leeching subscription members. It’s a tip I got from Social Triggers. Basically, you become active on forums or websites that are related to your topic/industry/niche. The people there already have an affinity for the niche, so if they see that you’re doing material on the niche as well, it’s much easier to gain them as an audience members. It’s not leeching, but more like targeting.

I’ll answer #1: I’m just starting so I don’t have anything that has been tried and true. I will say that subscribing to YouTube and other informational channels have been priceless in my quest for startup information on using WordPress, SEO and other similar marketing strategies. I’m would love to win this free premium site and framework as it will kickstart my online presence..by either allowing me to use myself or to gift to a client 🙂 Thank you for the opportunity Lisa!! Good luck to everyone that enters…

Awesome contest. Well, for me most useful traffic building tip is blog commenting, but simply leaving random comments isn’t much useful. However, meaningful and valuable comments are much useful to get exposure and also traffic to site/blog. Hope to win and good luck to all the participants. Thanks Lisa 🙂

The traffic building tip that has been the most useful for my Web site is to create valuable content for my target market on a consistent basis. I tried posting new content every week but was inconsistent because of writers block or a project taking longer than I anticipated. I decided instead to post my tutorials every 2 weeks instead to give the best quality content and take the pressure off.

Question “Name one traffic-building tip or technique that has been the most useful for your website.”
Answer: For our event hosting site using Meetup.com has been a great help in advertising for us. We actually use several different but similar formats for meetup groups and we have several different organizers to manage them all. Not only that, but cooperating with the leaders of other meetup groups to utilize their meetup lists also helps to gather more eyeballs for the events that we throw. The more emailing lists we get on the better.

I’d have to say that backlink building, having great content (and focusing on keywords) and well as strong social media marketing (for the most part – twitter) have all really helped me in the past (all in one package) – but if I’d have to choose which one I’d probably say twitter.
Derek D says
One thing that had helped me significantly is Twitter and YouTube. While I was creating my website, I was building up my audience with twitter and YouTube. After a week or two of tweeting and making videos, I started directing people to my site and got more views than I was expecting (and positive feedback!!) It was a great boost for me.

I wish I could name one traffic-building tip or technique that has been the most useful for my website, but I’m still in the beginning phase of getting my site up and running. Just from what I have seen and read though over the last couple of weeks I have been doing research, Google + is an up and coming source for social networking. It is my hunch that it will continue to take off and improve traffic to any website. I am planning on using this tool as well some of the other tools that Lisa has talked about.

My one-traffic building tip or technique that has been the most useful for me is to use Tumblr. I have a huge success in using Tumblr to drive traffic to my website simply because my target audience is there and Tumblr tagging system has improved a lot which makes it easier for me to find out what popular tags I can use. This leads to more people discover my post and if I include a link to my blog, this will drive them to my blog.

The traffic method that has always worked best for me has been SEO. Its how I generate traffic to all my sites and will continue to be, however email marketing is my next method to try.

I’ ll answer both question!
My answer 1:
Blog-Directorys! Sometimes called RSS-Directorys or the like. Entering my website into a bunch of these just gave me a few more pageviews and I wasted over 2h for entering the info into various forms.
2:
It’ s while back, but in the AppleDeveloper Center you could add a website as “app” when the design was responsive. This gave me a couple hundreds more pageviews everyday for almost two weeks (after this time other apps where at the top and the list and pushed me out of view). However I gained about 50 returnig vistiors!

Ans.) Google+ Page. Google+ is one of the social networks ignored by many website/Blog publishers as they are more into facebook and other social networks like Twitter, LinkedIn and Pinterest. My Google+ Page is a success and my site is verified on my G+ page, so it was a great achievement. That’s one of my simple traffic building tip.
