I finally got accepted into the Merch by Amazon program in mid October (after a 4-5 month wait) and let me just say what a ride it has been!
As I mentioned in my last blog post, I’m completely committed and addicted to P.O.D.
P.O.D. stands for print on demand. You upload an image and add it to to a shirt. When it sells, the parent company prints and ships the shirt while you collect your royalty.
There’s nothing more rewarding than to create something from your Macbook, upload it and then have it sell hours later.
Yes, hours.
That’s the beauty of P.O.D.
These are my earnings from the last 7 days on Merch by Amazon.
As you can see, most of these earnings are from only 3 shirts!
You will notice that the numbers differ from what I said in the podcast because the screenshot was taken after I recorded the podcast.
Update April 2017: So far my March payment has been my highest yet. See screenshot.
So Much Potential and Tons of Niches
Merch by Amazon is currently wide open in terms of finding a niche, and I have found several.
Due to all the organic search traffic Amazon gets, thousands of different kinds of shirts are selling well.
I make the majority of my money selling shirts related to current events, hot news topics, politics, etc.
In this podcast I share a bit about my journey with Merch, the positives, negatives and my new private group that I launched for students in my courses.
The purpose of the group is for me to share tips and tricks about what I’m learning on this journey with P.O.D. through content, video, etc.
Why a Private Group?
Limiting the group was a tough decision to make, but I explain why I made the choice in the podcast.
In a nutshell, it’s time for my business strategy to grow up, set boundaries for the “free work” I do, etc. And this is the start of all that.
Some of you may not like it or understand it, but I think most will respect it.
Internet marketing has evolved and so should our business models.
Once again, this is a very REAL TALK podcast (especially toward the end) so buckle up!
I hope you enjoy. 🙂

I discovered Lisa Irby while listening – again – to one of my favorite songs on YouTube (Black Butterfly by Denise Williams) where Lisa replied to my comment. Ain’t this fortuitous, in an absolutely beautiful way! I happen to need a website/wordpress style forum for my own niche in real estate investment and financing. I suppose you’ll advise me against GoDaddy or Wix, etc. Therefore, you’ll need to teach me your own method(s) and I’m more than willing to pay for it based upon your apparent popularity and business acumen. Nothing like a really smart sista! So, please give me a road map or blueprint to get started. You can forward your recommendations to my email at robertthesalesman@gmail.com. FYI, I’m particularly interested in marketing my niche product using eFlipBooks, or an eMagazine where the pages turn like a hardbound book. Is that feasible within your platform of training? I look forward to your swift response and in the meantime…
All the best, along with great success!

Wow Robert! You found me from a comment on a Denise Williams video? Now I’d kinda like to know what I said. LOL
I’m actually a reseller for GoDaddy so I have no problem with them. Wix, on the other hand, I know nothing about.
For a forum, you need to sign up with hosting and get a domain. You can get both at GoDaddy if you want. When you sign up with hosting, you can install WordPress for free on your domain.
Once WordPress is installed, you can install a free plugin called BuddyPress. It’s a free forum software program for WordPress.
I don’t actually build sites for people but I’m always happy to guide you. If you need clarification on the above steps, let me know or email at the contact form on this site.

Hi Lisa, Think I qualify for what yer doing since I been following you since you were about, um, 2, maybe 3………. Well quite awhile though and had bought a few of your udemy courses.
I think this is the right e-mail below. For sure the site is. I want to use this in my drink water site. amazon seems to be a way to actually find some organic customers. Don’t care how long it takes I want it!
Tanks,
Allan

Hi Lisa,
I have been following you forever but never had the the time to start my own business on the web. I have clicked the link from the Udemy course to join your group and will try to start earning online soon. the POD business seems to be one of the most fun and engaging ways to make money online for 2017, especially with all the political upheaval going on. I want to try to do this, i made money with FBA, up to $6000 one month in sales, but it got too hectic, all the shopping, and i still have a regular job, so i stopped sending in products.
This POD seems better!

Hi Lisa,
awesome podcast! Just one question – is there an option to download an MP3 version? I like to listen to podcasts in 1.5x speed. 🙂

Thank you very much! I’ve listened to this in real time, but I was just wondering, if you’ve decided to scratch the MP3 versions. It seems that – thankfully – not. 🙂
Cheers.

Hey Lisa and, of course, Kim up there in the comments!
Although I’m a little behind where I wanted to be in getting my website and blog established, at last, I have a niche!
Which means 2017 will be the year I WILL seriously be stalking both of you and following your business models.
